Our "Why"
Many youth in Hawai’i are facing an unprecedented crisis of anxiety and a loss of purpose. Through our local outreach, we discovered that many students feel paralyzed by fear of the future, often giving up before they even begin.
Additionally, a lack of professional creative platforms forces our best talent to leave the islands to pursue their dreams. To solve this, we are launching a talent competition that provides mentorship from some of the best, professional workshops, and a supportive community.
We are dedicated to investing in our keiki and building a local infrastructure for excellence that empowers the next generation to lead with character and artistry right here at home.
DETAILS
Starting November 7, 2026, through March 20, 2027, Win the City LLC presents a statewide talent competition for high school students. With categories in Dance and Vocal/Musical Performance, the event promises $10,000 in combined cash and rewards for the top winner. All entrants have a chance to exclusive access to educational workshops and mentorship led by creative pioneers and renowned artists/performers such as FIA, Johnny Suite, Michael Maglinti, Mark Villaver, and Josh “Hazmat” Ulep, and more.
By attending at least nine curated workshop/mentorship sessions, young performers will refine their skills through direct guidance from professionals in their craft. This journey is designed to elevate character, build self-assurance, and foster a deep sense of local pride as students represent their home districts.
Participants will move through a structured series of Auditions, Preliminaries, and Semi-Finals, culminating in a grand Final showcase on March 20, 2027.
